Our Governing Board is comprised of experienced industry leaders from around the world. DTVKit is led by knowledgeable governors who advise and steer, bringing their own experiences from the market to keep DTVKit current, relevant and most importantly to the benefits of the members. Phil Evans

General manager

Phil has held senior roles in engineering, sales and marketing for several high technology companies for the past 35 years, with the last 20 years specialising in TV and set-top box solutions, in both the broadcast and IP domains.

Phil joined DTVKit as General Manager 2 years ago, having been involved with the setup of DTVKit. His primary role is to grow the membership of DTVKit, to develop DTVKit as a commercialised product, and to build an ecosystem of partners delivering services and additional functionality based around DTVKit.

Amy Cleary

Board secretary

Amy is a senior level marketing professional beginning her career within the Digital TV and set-top box industry in 2010 at OBS (Ocean Blue software Ltd.) Her understanding of B2B marketing, with previous positions in both digital and print media, led her to the start-up organisation DTVKit in 2014.  With a keen interest in the development of open standards and software, Amy keeps DTVKit running smoothly focusing on marketing strategy, public relations and member care.

Paul Martin

Board member

Paul has spent the majority of his career in the semiconductor industry, specialising in Digital TV (STB and TV) for the past 13 years. He held a number of senior management positions, including roles in Marketing, Corporate Strategy and R&D management. Paul Martin joined OBS as CEO in 2012 to expand the executive team and drive the business forward into its next growth phase, which included the founding of DTVKit.

Paul Cox

Board member

Paul Cox has worked in the semiconductor industry for twenty years, driving transport and demultiplexing technologies at STMicroelectronics, before setting up the European development team for Broadcom in 2005. Paul has been instrumental in the architecting and delivery of almost all major new Set Top Box projects in EMEA during the past decade, and understands the difficult solutions required to bring a complex system together. Paul was a founding member of the DTVKit governing board, identifying early on a need for a more open broadcast stack solution that would help with integration into the next generation of hybrid app-driven platforms.

Richard Smith

Board member

Richard is CEO of EKT and a veteran of the industry, known for his extensive knowledge and bringing together partners, customers and ideas. With his passion for product innovation, manufacturing, commercial modelling and finding the right people, Richard is committed to DTVKit’s roadmap and technology partnerships to create a DTVKit product that is; exciting, fresh, relevant and cost effective.

Andrew Till

Board member

Andrew has worked in the high-technology industry for over 25 years, exploring new emerging technologies, developing industry market trends and innovation opportunities.  He spearheaded Harman Connected Services move into the broadcast industry and continues to play a leading role in shaping the strategy. He joined the board of DTVKit one year ago, and advises on a range of technology related issues.

Andy Carr

Board member

Andy is a media consultant to Freesat, his experience enables him to oversee the Freesat product ranging roadmap and supply chain ensuring smooth delivery to market. Developing strong relationships with SOC companies, manufacturers and software partners is fundamental to his role and he works closely with UK retailers to establish market demand for new and innovative products. Andy has more than twenty years’ experience in the digital TV industry, working with leading companies including Sony and previously set up his own set-top-box company.

Anderson Tsai

Board member

Anderson Tsai has worked at MediaTek for more than seven years. He is responsible for software product marketing activities, including broadcasting standards (ATSC, ISDB, DVB, etc.), browser strategy, logo, and security. He has extensive product / project management experience, including in-depth knowledge of new product development processes from concept to launch.
