Join us at the HBBTV Symposium in Rome

We are proud to be sponsoring the HbbTV Symposium in Rome this month, from 17-18 October.

Hybrid broadcast broadband TV (HbbTV) is a European digital TV standard and has transformed into a global initiative in the last five years. The end goal is to harmonise the broadcast and broadband delivery of entertainment services to consumers through connected TVs, set-top-boxes and multiscreen devices. This specification is based on elements of existing standards and a variety of web technologies.

The primary goal of HbbTV is to enhance the video user experience for consumers, this global initiative provides users with a whole host of interactive services via broadcast and broadband networks. HbbTV features incorporate existing specifications from other standards including OIPF, CEA, DVB, MPEG-DASH and W3C.

Because of our firm belief in open standards, HbbTV has formed a major part of our offering and with our various partners we have continued to support and expand our HbbTV solution. DTVKit is one of the few third party sources with a complete HbbTV system for CE equipment makers.

It is only because we partner with key players in the world of HbbTV such as Voxtok and ACCESS that we can provide such a diversity of solutions to our members and its these partnerships that make us unique.

Our continued development includes working with Voxtok, to develop an Android TV, royalty free HbbTV 2.0.1 solution, based around the Voxtok HbbTV and DTVKit DVB Core middleware.

With Android based solutions becoming more popular in retail solutions and with HbbTV 2.0.1 being the solution of choice for many European broadcasters, providing a solution to harness the strengths of both these platforms will offer a major opportunity to manufacturers in this market.

If you would like to meet one of our team in Rome please email us here. We look forward to meeting you!
